There’s nothing quite like cozying up at the end of a long, cold winter’s day with a nice bowl of thick, rich soup. I love thick soups – the more stuff there is in it, the better! Here’s a collection of 16 of the best winter soup recipes. (Although they would also be delicious in the spring. Or summer. Or fall. Basically, they would be delicious any time of year because they are delicious. But especially so in winter.)

Rich beef broth + chunky vegetables = all you need to warm yourself up
Anything with the name “bisque” used to scare me off, tbh, but it’s really just a rich, creamy soup. This savory pumpkin soup with cinnamon, cloves, and pumpkin pie spice is the definition of comfort food

Can you say yum? All the flavors of pot pie, but without the carbs!
This veggie bean chili is thick and rich enough to be an entire meal in its own right
6. Hamburger Vegetable Soup with ground beef, potatoes, and vegetables, to really fill you up
7. Leftover Turkey Bean Soup uses your leftover turkey and transforms it into a delicious soup
8. Roasted Tomato Chickpea Soup is rich and hearty, with a great fire-roasted tomato taste
9. Vegan Clam Chowder – this vegan clam chowder doesn’t have any clams, but it does have an adorable bread bowl to be served in
10. Lamb Stew Provencal – I think the name “Lamb Stew Provencal” speaks for itself, tbqh
11. Creamy Carrot Soup – This creamy carrot soup doesn’t have any cream in it, but it does have ground meat to make it nice and filling
12. Quick Borscht – I’m sorry, but I love beets, and this Borscht looks absolutely delicious
13. Venison Soup – Venison Soup! How exotic but amazing is that??
14. Roasted Broccoli and Cauliflower Cheese Soup Broccoli and cheese. What could be better?
15. Mac and Cheese Soup, guys. Mac and cheese soup.
16. Beef and Barley Soup – If you looked up “comfort soup” in the dictionary, there would be a picture of this soup. Yum.
